Enterprises in Loita Division, Kenya, has been initiated to
improve the economic position of the Maasai in a sustainable
way. The economic development harmonises the precious traditional
cultural values and supports sustainable use and management
of the unique natural resources in the Loita area.
A philosophy and strategy are needed where Maasai culture,
their household economy, the wildlife and the conservation
of the forest go hand in hand.
